Certivance offers the ServSafe® Food Protection Manager Exam in a digital format using Chromebooks provided by Certivance. These exams are supervised by certified Certivance Instructors/Proctors and follow the official policies of the National Restaurant Association.

What You Need to Bring
Valid Photo ID
Government-issued or school ID required.
No photocopies are accepted.
Gmail Account
Learners must have a Gmail account to log into the Chromebook testing environment.

Learners should create or update their ServSafe® account before attending:

Exam Day Process
If You Are Attending a Class
Check-In: When you arrive for your scheduled class, sign in at the registration desk and present your photo ID.
Training & Exam: The class will conclude with the ServSafe® digital exam, proctored on-site using Certivance Chromebooks.
If You Are Taking a Standalone Exam
Arrival: Arrive at least 15 minutes before your scheduled exam start. Late arrivals may not be admitted.
Check-In: Present your photo ID to the proctor and sign the Examinee Entry/Exit Log.
General Information
Chromebook Setup: You will be provided with a Chromebook and instructions to log in using your Gmail account.
During the Exam
The exam has 90 multiple-choice questions.
Standard time: 2 hours (3 hours maximum with approved accommodations).
Passing score: 75% or higher.
Proctor will monitor your exam environment and provide support as needed.
After the Exam
Results are available instantly at the end of the exam.
Certificates are posted to My Certivance the same day.
Learners may also log into their ServSafe® account to view results and certificates.
Certivance mails a laminated/printed certificate as a complimentary value-added service for all in-person, corporate, and in-person proctored exams.
Rescheduling Policy
If you are unable to attend your scheduled class or exam, please contact Certivance in advance to reschedule. Rescheduling is subject to our official Enrollment Policy.
Retesting Policy
If you do not pass, you may schedule a retest in accordance with ServSafe® policies.
Retesting is limited to two attempts within 30 days; after that, a 60-day wait is required.
A maximum of four attempts are allowed in any 12-month period.
Additional fees apply for retests.
