We're not lawyers—just friendly helpers! 🍻 This document isn’t intended to serve as legal advice. Alcohol laws are like recipes—every city, county, and state has its own unique regulations. For the most accurate guidance on local rules, reach out to your state liquor control board (they're the real experts here). While Certivance provides resources and keeps an eye on state-level regulations, always double-check with your local authorities—because even the best need a second opinion! 😉

State Training Program:
In Vermont, all individuals involved in the sale or service of alcohol are required to complete an approved training program before commencing their duties and to undergo retraining every two years thereafter.
The Vermont Department of Liquor and Lottery (DLL) offers various training options, including in-person seminars conducted by DLL educators and online seminars accessible through their website. Additionally, businesses may opt for in-house training conducted by an employee certified as a "Train the Trainer." These training programs cover essential topics such as state laws and regulations, the effects of alcohol on the body, recognizing signs of impairment, civil liability, and the duty to control alcohol service.
Upon successful completion of the training, employees receive a certificate valid for two years. Employers are responsible for maintaining records of these certifications and ensuring that all staff members are properly trained and retrained as required. This structured approach aims to promote responsible alcohol service, enhance public safety, and ensure compliance with state regulations.
