Recertification Requirements

To renew CFPM certification, individuals must complete 4 hours of continuing education, submit a renewal application, and pay a $35 application fee. Proof of continuing education must be provided to the Minnesota Department of Health. The ServSafe Manager Online Course Record of Training is accepted as valid proof of continuing education. If the required 4 hours of continuing education are not completed before the CFPM certification expiration date, the individual will need to retake the initial course exam and provide proof of a passing score.

Notes:

A Certified Food Protection Manager (CFPM) is required at each establishment, including those that reheat Ready-to-Eat TCS (Time/Temperature Control for Safety) foods.
