ProctorU is a third-party online proctoring service used to monitor exams taken remotely. It allows exams to be administered online while maintaining exam security and integrity.
ProctorU is not operated by Certivance and is used only when an exam requires online proctoring.
When taking a proctored online exam through ProctorU:
You are monitored by a live remote proctor
Monitoring is conducted using your webcam, microphone, and screen access
Identity verification and workspace checks are performed before the exam begins
ProctorU uses automated monitoring tools to help flag irregular activity during the exam
Verifies your identity before the exam
Monitors your exam session in real time
Enforces exam rules set by the certification program
Reports exam activity to the exam provider
It does not provide training or exam content
It does not issue certificates or scores
It does not determine pass/fail results
It does not handle course enrollment or billing
ProctorU is a required component for certain online exams
System requirements, scheduling rules, and proctor availability are determined by ProctorU
Technical issues during a proctored exam are handled directly through ProctorU support
